Yesterday I was involved in a situation that I never thought I would get into but this is what happened. As I was driving down Telegraph I came upon a man in the right lane that had stopped his vehicle yelling at someone in the van in back of him. Then I observed this jerk start pounding on the hood of this minivan. I noticed the woman inside crying along with 2 small children, so I got out and asked the guy what the problem was. He said "the bitch cut me off". I asked him if there was an accident, and he said "no, and it's none of your business" and started pointing a finger in my face. I told him first off that he needed to chill out and leave these people alone. If he had a problem to call the police and let them deal with it. That's when it got ugly. The guy takes a swing at me and knocks off my hat. He told me that "if you weren't wearing glasses I'd kick your ass. I obliged him and took off my glasses, he lunged and took a swing that touched nothing but air. I stepped in with one punch and rocked him so bad I thought I might have broken my knuckle. I didn't, thank God. I later found out that I cracked his cheek bone. Now a trucker get's out of his 16 wheeler and ask's "did you get him good?" He had seen the whole incident I later found out. In the mean time the jerk get's into his van and drives off. Anyway the police show up and put me in a squad car for about 5 minutes and then released me based on witness statements. They found the jerk in a city park 3 blocks away. They ended up arresting him for aggrivated assault, no driver's license and a prior warrant. Now my question is "How smart was that to do or do you think it was dumb to get involved?" I just could not see letting that happen but in retrospect I wonder if I would do it again. Your thoughts are welcome.
